About Us

OUR STORY

From Unity to Clinical Advocacy

How a grassroots movement became a specialized network for Caribbean health.

The CCU Foundation

Originally founded as Caribbean Culture United (CCU), our early work centered on bringing the diaspora together through culture and shared heritage.

The Turning Point:

As we engaged with our community, we identified a critical, unmet need for specialized health advocacy and culturally competent care.

The Birth of CHAWN

In response, we evolved into the Caribbean Health and Wellness Network (CHAWN) to focus specifically on improving health outcomes through education and prevention.

MISSION & VISION

Guided by Purpose, Driven by Results

Defining our commitment to the health and well-being of the Caribbean people.

Our Mission

To improve health through education, advocacy, and access to care, guided by compassion, service, and faith in God.

Our Vision

To be a trusted global network that empowers Caribbean people to achieve optimal health and holistic well-being.

Our Approach

We combine medical expertise with a deep understanding of Caribbean culture to provide care that resonates with our community.

OUR VALUES

The Principles that Lead Our Service

Every program we launch and every life we touch is guided by these three pillars:

Culturally Competent Care:

We recognize that effective healthcare must respect the unique dietary, social, and spiritual fabric of the Caribbean

Compassionate Service:

Our work is more than a clinical duty; it is a calling to serve our neighbors with empathy and grace

Faith-Based Wellness:

We believe in a holistic approach to health that honors the intersection of physical vitality and spiritual faith

Why Our Work Matters

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol disproportionately affect Caribbean communities. Many of these conditions are preventable and manageable, yet gaps in awareness, access, and culturally relevant care persist.

CHAWN exists to bridge this gap—empowering individuals with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to live healthier lives.
